FROM THE MARINE CORPS TO CONGRESS,
RUBEN GALLEGO HAS DEDICATED HIS LIFE
TO SERVING US.
Raised by his immigrant single mother, he learned the value and sacrifice of achieving the American dream— taking any job he could find to support his family. From these humble roots, he chased his American dream and graduated from Harvard with a degree in International Relations, eventually serving in the U.S. Marines and deploying to Iraq with the acclaimed combat unit Lima 3/25.
Ruben understands the sacrifices and hard work we put in to provide for our families. For over a decade, Congressman Gallego has represented the people of Arizona, tirelessly advocating for our government to provide the tools and opportunities we need to build a better life.
HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Since his time in Congress, Ruben has:
Supported the CHIPS and Science Act, attracting over $65 billion in manufacturing investment and creating more jobs for Arizona.
Helped pass the Inflation Reduction Act, which created another 12,000 good-paying, clean-energy jobs in Arizona.
Championed legislation capping insulin at $35 for Medicare beneficiaries and lowering prescription drug costs for up to 389,000 Arizonans.
Supported much-needed affordable housing here in Arizona through nearly $12 million in increased funding.
Brought $1 billion to improve our state’s highways, bridges, and EV charging network.
Introduced the SAFE Retail Act to provide small business owners with the resources to protect their businesses and employees.
Passed the Buck Stops Here Act to combat Arizona’s fentanyl epidemic.
Successfully secured 14 Community Project Funding Requests in the U.S. House, bringing over $18 million to Arizona communities.
Brought $95 million in federal grants to expand I-10.
Championed the creation of a $10 billion down payment assistance program for first-time, first-generation homebuyers and backed the HELPER Act to lower down payment and mortgage insurance costs for teachers and first responders.
“Solving Arizona’s housing crisis means tackling the issue from all sides. That includes ensuring our supply of public housing is safe and available for the families and seniors who need it most,” said Rep. Gallego. “Thanks to critical funding I helped pass, nearly $12 million is coming to communities across Arizona to do just that.”
In the U.S. Senate, Ruben will continue to fight for a better economy and opportunities for all Arizonans, not just the ultra-wealthy. He’ll spearhead the charge by pushing to increase the federal minimum wage to at least $15 an hour, while protecting and expanding workers' rights. He will continue to support small businesses and entrepreneurship and will work to bring even more high-paying jobs to Arizona.
